Job Description

Title: Zoom Master and Recording Engineer.

Hours: The United Church of Strafford, Vermont, holds services every Sunday morning at 10:00 AM with occasional services and events at other times.  The Sunday hours for the Zoom Master and Recording Engineer are typically 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the church followed by an hour or more at home Sunday afternoon editing the video.  Other occasional services and events would be optional and approximately the same amount of time, sometimes on weeknights but more often on weekends.

The position would begin with paid on-the-job training as assistant to the current Zoom Master and Recording Engineer with the goal of then job sharing for the first year.  After that year the current person will be leaving and ideally this job will transition to be the primary Zoom Master and Recording Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Setting up equipment before the service or event
  • Includes Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) camera, audio mixer, large screen TV, Ipads, condenser microphone, and wireless microphones.
• Starting and ending both Zoom and OBS programs, including recording on both
• Managing Zoom during service
  • Moving PTZ camera to follow action, admitting participants to Zoom, trouble-shooting any problems with A/V
  • Screen sharing words and occasionally videos
  • Enabling live streaming participants to talk with the in-person people
• Taking down equipment after the service or event
  • Includes the equipment mentioned previously
• Editing video in Imovie
  • Editing recorded video prior to uploading it to YouTube. Additionally, writing timestamps based off of the events in the bulletin, and uploading video to youtube.
  • Sometimes posting the YouTube link on the church WordPress website and using the church’s MailChimp account to mail notification of the posting to the congregation.

Pay level depends on experience, increasing to the maximum when fully proficient.  Range: $13.18 to $15.60 per hour.
