Mother’s Out Front Anti-Oppression and Anti-Racism Online Trainings

Dear Church Family,

The issues of climate change and racism have a direct, tragic connection, similar to so many other connections like climate and refugees, climate and economic injustice, climate and war, climate and weakening democracy and more.  Please see the list of “Anti-Oppression and Anti-Racism” trainings below that are being offered this fall by Mothers Out Front.

As a part of our training program at Mothers Out Front, Climate Justice Organizer, Stephanie Bowman and Frontline Organizing Program Manager, Marnese Jackson will be facilitating a Fall Anti-Oppression and Anti-Racism Series.

Why: In order to authentically move in Frontline communities that are impacted by Environmental and Climate injustices, we have to understand that we have to move in a holistic way because social, economic and ecological issues are interconnected and interdependent. The problems are interrelated, and so are the solutions. As organizers in the Environmental and Climate Justice field, we must identify and unpack the systems of oppression, and analyze the narratives that help to legitimize and hold these institutions in place. Racism is the single most critical barrier to building effective teams, coalitions and movements for social change. In order to do that we must commit to create and promote an anti-racist culture in our organization and the Environmental and Climate Justice movement. Below you will find a series of trainings that we invite you to participate in.
