September 5, 2020
Dear Church Family,
I am excited to share with you some new worship formats and spiritual offerings that have arisen out of conversation with the Deacons and the team working on our online worship. Here is a summary:
1. We will continue to have our Sunday morning Joys and Concerns time starting at 10:30 AM and running usually an hour or so. (Here is the link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/110184919
and zoom instructions are on our website at https://wp.me/p95Qj3-zC.)
2. We will add onto the front of that hour a new time of music and readings live from the sanctuary from 10:15 to 10:30 AM, starting this Sunday, September 6th. All you need to do is use the same Zoom link as Joys and Concerns (see #1 above) but arrive at 10:15. You will be automatically muted when you come in and please make sure to stay muted until the music and readings are over. Then at 10:30 we will begin our usual Joys and Concerns time talking together.
3. We will still offer the recorded service on our website in the same format that we have been using, but it will be much shorter and simpler. It will include the sermon each week. I will send out the link to it in the churchwide email on Saturday as I have done in the past.
4. In addition, I will offer occasional posts of poetry or reflections at other times during the week as the Spirit moves me—spiritual resources that I hope you may find useful.
Our church policy remains that we are not having any in-person gatherings, so the Sunday morning music and readings in the sanctuary will not be open for in-person attendance, only on Zoom. If you would like to be a reader or musician, please be in touch with Deacon Becky Bailey at firstname.lastname@example.org and our Church Musician, Annemieke McLane at email@example.com.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Tom Kinder
