Here are two hymns for the live Advent Preparation Sunday service on Zoom on Sunday, November 8th. (To find out how to view the service click here.)
And here is a reading for the live service:
Responsive Reading from Isaiah 60, Mark 1 & 13, Luke 1
Leader: Jesus said, “Beware, keep alert…
What I say to you I say to all: keep awake.”
People: Isaiah said, “Arise, shine; for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will arise upon you
and his glory will appear over you.”
Leader: Zechariah said, “By the tender mercy of our God,
the dawn from on high will break upon us,
to give light to those who sit in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
People: Mark said, “See, I am sending my messenger…
the voice of one crying out in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord,
make his paths straight.’”
Leader: Mary said, “He has brought down the powerful
from their thrones, and lifted up the lowly
in remembrance of his mercy,
according to the promise he made to our ancestors.”
People: We say as Mary said,
“Here am I, the servant of the Lord;
let it be with me according to your word.”
