January 24, 2021 Children’s (and Adults’) Story Time

We will have a Children’s (and Adults’) Story Time by Zoom, this Sunday January 24th at 9:30 AM—Please spread the word about this event.  Children can attend from anywhere and adults are welcome, too!

Danette Harris and Joey Hawkins will read aloud and discuss the beautiful, meaningful book described below.  (Pastor Tom Kinder will be there, too—he is the zoom host, and it’s one of his favorite activities!)

We will be offering story time whenever we have a volunteer to lead it.  Please let us know if you would like to share a favorite book with the children by emailing us at unitedchurchofstrafford@gmail.com.

This week we start a new Story Time Session: Stories of Epiphany: Seeing in a New Way

Children of all ages are welcome to join Joey Hawkins and Danette Harris this Sunday from 9:30am-10:00am for our first story of an epiphany. We will read the story of John Newton, a slave trader in the 1700s, and who, after an epiphany during a storm at sea, wrote the beloved hymn “Amazing Grace”. He then went on to work to abolish slavery in England. The story will be followed by a short discussion where we will focus on the thoughts of the children. All are welcome!  We hope to see you!
